As per a property listing on a leading online real estate and property portal of the United Kingdom called Rightmove, a vendor has put up a property for sale and is ready to accept payment in number one cryptocurrency Bitcoin. The property that the vendor is trying to sell is a 150-year-old church, built in the 18th century, that is later converted into a 7-bedroom character property.
The reports note the price of the property to be 1.2 million British Pounds that amounts to around 1.5 million dollars. The listing also mentions that the closing price in BTC is subject to agreement and confirmation by the vendor. Moreover, the pricing in Bitcoin would be based on the cryptocurrency’s market pricing at the same time.
Divulging more information, the listing revealed that the property was once St. Laurence’s Church, built in the year 1871, located in Middleton One Row, County Durham. It was designed by an architect named JP Pritchett, who was based in Darlington.
It is important to consider that the United Kingdom has been quite friendly so far when it comes to digital currency payments. In April this year, Corporate Traveller, the biggest travel management firm of the UK, announced its decision to start accepting payments in Bitcoin. Corporate Traveller entered into a collaboration with BitPay, a renowned crypto payments firm, for the purpose.
