America was glued to the ‘Trump vs Harris debate’ that took place on 10 September, but seems like the debate bore no gifts for the crypto community as cryptocurrencies did not even find a mention in the debate. As the crypto community sensed the debate swaying towards Harris, Bitcoin dipped.
Bitcoin was at one point trading at $57, 710, after going back to $56,848. Note that the fluctuations also were a reflection of both the candidates’ showing no ‘special mentioning’ of the crypto industry. With Trump’s avowed support for Bitcoin and even seeing a Bitcoin Reserve as a solution for US 35 Trillion debt, the cryptocurrency is considered a so-called Trump trades.
As a result, Bitcoin, which became a real-time indicator on who is gaining the upper hand in the debate, ‘dipped’, when Harris started showing dominance throughout the debate.

Note that Kamala Harris has been evading questions on crypto in all her campaigns and future administration plans. She even skipped cryptos from her future plans as she laid down framework for socio-economic strategies and included AI among them. But with Crypto4Harris, a crypto-centered support group, she still managed to find some backing within the crypto space.
The debate, however, featured topics including adoption, Russia-Ukraine war, Israel, Covid as predicted by Polymarket, even as it left Polymarket bettors on if Trump & Harris will mention Crypto in ‘Presidential Debate’ disappointed.
