EOS, TRON, Ethereum Top The Latest Crypto Rankings In China By The CCID, Bitcoin Placed 12th

The Center for Information and Industry Development, sub-division under China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the 12th update of the monthly crypto rankings. The current rankings are an update over the rankings released in March. As opposed to the monthly iterations, the CCID will be releasing the ranking updates bimonthly from now on.

The assessment of cryptocurrencies on all the laid parameters was conducted by the CCID (Qingdao) Blockchain Research Institute, established by the CCID, in partnership with CCID Think Tank, and the China Software Evaluation.

With 148.5 points, EOS tops the rankings again in May and is closely followed by TRON who’s placed 2nd with 144.1 points. Ethereum is at a placed 3rd with 136.6 points. STEEM (111.7) and Ontology (110.4) are ranked 4th and 5th, respectively. Bitcoin has managed to climb three spots up to gain the 12th position in overall rankings, with 101.1 points.

The CCID is a state-of-the-art scientific research institution, governed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. It released the rankings first in May 2018, and since then it has been updated the list on a monthly basis. The Center states,

The result of this assessment will allow the CCID group to provide better technical consulting services for government agencies, business enterprises, research institutes, and technology developers.

Parameters of the research are based on technology (64%), applicability (20%), and creativity (16%) indexes. The Center adds,

The basic technology sub-index mainly assesses the level of technical realization of the public chain.

The technology sub-index includes categories like function, performance, safety, and decentralization of the public chain. Top five spots under this index belong to EOS, TRON, STEEM, Bitshares, and Gxchain.

On the other hand, the creativity sub-index measures innovation in the public chain, including developer size, code updates, and code impact. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Lisk, EOS and TRON top the list under this category.

The third sub-index, applicability, evaluate the level of public chain support for practical use applications. This includes node deployment, wallet application, development support, and application implementation. Top five crypto platforms in terms of applicability are Ethereum, Neo, Nebulas, Tron, and Ontology.
