Ripple Achieves Major Feat in Global Payments Space

The latest recognition is part of the Future Digital Awards for Fintech & Payments 2024. It highlights the firm’s growing influence in international finance. The company shared its excitement on X, announcing, “We’re pleased to announce that Ripple has been named a Platinum Winner in Best Cross-Border Payments Platform by Juniper Research’s Future Digital Awards for Fintech & Payments 2024!”

Juniper Research, an authority in digital market research, also took to X to recognize the XRP firm’s achievement. They stated, “The Platinum Prize for Best Cross-border Payments Platform goes to … Ripple for Ripple Payments!” This award underscores the company’s ability to provide efficient, secure, and cost-effective solutions for cross-border transactions.

Furthermore, it could prove to be an advantage for XRP too as it plays an important role in the blockchain firm’s cross-border payments venture. Growing adoption of the payments system could also boost XRP demand, thereby driving up its price. Currently, XRP price is struggling below the $0.54 owing to the firm’s legal battle as the SEC recently appealed a court ruling.

Today’s award follows a significant milestone for Ripple as it enters the Latin American market with a new partnership in Brazil. Earlier, last week, the blockchain company launched its advanced end-to-end payments solution in collaboration with Mercado Bitcoin, the largest crypto exchange in the region.

This partnership makes Mercado Bitcoin the first Brazilian company to adopt the company’s blockchain-based payment platform. With Ripple Payments, businesses can now transfer funds globally within minutes, eliminating delays and improving the overall efficiency of cross-border transactions.

A standout feature of this collaboration is the use of a non-resident account, which allows direct payments in Brazilian Reais. This innovative feature is expected to streamline international transactions, reducing costs for businesses and customers alike.

Jordan Abud, Head of Banking at Mercado Bitcoin, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. He noted that this partnership would “facilitate international transactions at a lower cost, enhancing the platform and expanding the product portfolio for customers.”

Mercado Bitcoin plans to initially use the XRP firm’s technology for its internal treasury operations between Brazil and Portugal. Thereafter, the crypto exchange aims to eventually extend these services to both corporate and retail clients.
