PROOF of Conference stands canceled, announces PROOF PROOF of Conference stands canceled, announces PROOF

A setback but probably the best decision since PROOF has announced to cancel its NFT event – PROOF of Conference. The announcement was made through an official blog post with highlights shared through the official Twitter handle. Saying that it was a difficult decision to make, PROOF has emphasized that it was the best choice they could make after carefully deciding the matter and considering all the available alternatives.

Needless to say, tickets are unavailable for purchase, and anyone who has already bought the tickets will be eligible for a full ETH refund. This includes hotel bookings, transaction fees, and flight tickets, among other things. While all the basic refunds are covered by PROOF, some of them may depend on a case-to-case basis. For instance, additional expenses for the trip or a decision to stay in the venue despite the event standing canceled.

A refund will not be issued in the latter case; however, PROOF has committed to assist with the process of rebooking.

It has to be noted that this does mean a permanent cancellation of events. PROOF has announced plans to come up with more events in the future and execute them in the most effective manner. The current PoC had to be canceled after a discussion with the team & sponsors and a review of the sales data.

According to the announcement, PROOF will look to host more NFT events in the days to come, with a core focus on smaller events. For now, the team is looking to deliver products and art that benefit the communities of Moonbirds and PROOF.

The first such event is tentatively scheduled for March 02, 2023. It will offer an update on the active Moonbirds initiatives.

Members of the community have taken this with mixed emotions. Some have understood the circumstances to offer constructive feedback, like making it CCO and allowing people to have their own conference. Others have asked PROOF to lower their charges in the next event and give a free pass to holders.

To reiterate, this is not a permanent cancellation of the event, and it may (or may not be) rescheduled in the future. The digital receipt, along with the trading block, will stay in the wallet.

Anyone who has received the refund from PROOF in their wallet is suggested to get in touch with the team. PROOF seeks the following pieces of information:

  • Wallet address
  • TokenID of tickets

Refunds for flights and hotel rooms will be processed after the cancellation process has concluded. The link to process reimbursement is available on the official website of PROOF.
