Omise, the blockchain-based payments firm, made an important announcement on Monday regarding its strategic collaboration with PayNow. PayNow was launched in 2018 and it primarily focusses on seamless and secure e-payment services in the city. This collaboration will open the door for a new payment option for the firm’s Singaporean customers. The service is scheduled to be launched next month and mainly targets both small and medium-sized e-commerce businesses of Singapore.

Omise has proved to be the one-stop payment solution to connect and interact with the customers at ease; as such, the customers find it very convenient to use Omise on their websites. Omise works seamlessly as a back-processing payment system that relieves the clients to navigate through the distracting linked pages.

Commenting about this collaboration, Nick Gan, Omise’s Country Manager in Singapore, said,

Omise is proud to launch PayNow Corporate as part of Singapore’s cashless drive towards a Smart Nation. Consumers are becoming more digitally savvy and demand fast and seamless payments. As a result, more and more companies are adapting to this shift and recognizing the speed and convenience of PayNow over cash and cheque collections. With PayNow, businesses are simply able to get paid faster and become more efficient. Omise is excited to be able to offer businesses multiple online payment methods across cards, PayNow, and e-wallets on one payment platform.

Detailing the payment procedures, the spokesperson on behalf of the company said that the gateway would be using services from 9 local banks to process the payments. Moreover, the transactions will be done from registered mobile numbers only or from NRIC, which is the National Registration Identity Card, or UEN which stands for Unique Entity Number. To initiate the payment procedure, the users only need to scan the QR code, which is provided to them by the merchants. This is done to secure the payment process.
