Northlands College introduces the Northlands College Metaverse Campus, joining the ranks of Canadian colleges that have introduced an entire campus in the metaverse. This is a watershed moment in terms of introducing a period of transformative learning tools as the college continues to advance education and the incorporation of technology in Northern Saskatchewan.

According to the college’s Director of Flexible Learning, Jocelyn Vandall, the main focus of the Northlands College Metaverse campus is to link the expansive territory of Northern Saskatchewan and rope in learners, staff, and faculty to gain the availability of knowledge and learning.

Northlands College President and CEO Karsten Henriksen says the institution’s new metaverse campus represents not only a significant institutional milestone, but also a chance for residents of Northern Saskatchewan to learn about, and potentially excel in, the emerging field of Industry 4.0. These initiatives represent the institution’s unwavering dedication to providing educators and students with the necessary resources, assistance, and cutting-edge opportunities to thrive in the ever-changing Digital North landscape. This won’t merely generate opportunities; it will open the North’s future completely.

By furthering the inclination towards acquiring the necessary skills, along with the increase in the economy of the North, digital abilities become significant for identifying fresh employment possibilities for Northerners. The college will work towards enhancing skills and creating better learning exposure via virtual classrooms within the metaverse campus.
