Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne Moss, two of the actors of The Matrix film series, have a number of extremely distinct viewpoints on the notion of virtual worlds, including bitcoin and NFTs.
The performers from The Matrix Resurrections have spent more time than the ordinary person considering what it might be like to live in a virtual environment, so they were asked for their ideas on the Metaverse in an interview with The Verge.
Moss and Reeves had opposing viewpoints about the way technology is eroding the border between the actual and virtual worlds, involving notions such as cryptocurrencies and non-financial tokens (NFTs). Reeves shared a tale that captured some of the changes in how that sentence is seen depending on who is talking about it.
Reeves mentioned that he was having dinner with a buddy, a filmmaker, and he had some children, including a 13-year-old, a 15-year-old, and a 17-year-old. And because they hadn’t watched The Matrix, the director said, “Why don’t you simply tell them what it’s about?”
So I’m starting to say, ‘Well, there’s this man who is in a type of virtual world, and he discovers that there is a real-world, and he’s really questioning what’s real and what’s not real, and he’s very curious about what’s genuine.’
“The girl was like, ‘Why?’.
“And I was like, ‘what does she mean?’

‘Who cares whether it’s real?’ she said.
“And I replied, ‘What, you prefer to know if it’s real?’.
“And she was like, ‘No,.’
“Sounds great,” Reeves said.
Moss, on the other hand, isn’t certain it’s fantastic.
“I’m the parent at the kitchen table, sobbing because we’re talking about the possibilities of a virtual world for my kids,” she added. “That’s how I’m feeling right now.”
“But now I just sorta like sitting around the table and talking,” she says.
“Can we please not have the idea that Metaverse is developed by Facebook?” Reeves said, continuing on the theme of virtual worlds. The idea of a Metaverse is far older than that. It’s like it’s a lot older, and so for that moment.
After that, Moss and Reeves were asked if they had watched The Matrix NFT piece they performed for Resurrections the week before.

“They manufactured NFTs to be used for the next movie,” the interviewer stated, “and the site collapsed in the first two hours as 300,000 people in line attempting to buy these NFTs for $50.”
The Internet loved the way Keane Reeves presented his practical and honest review of NFT and Cryptocurrency.
