Ledger, the security and infrastructure solutions for cryptocurrencies and blockchain applications, announced the integration of Cardano [ADA] with the popular hardware wallet, Ledger Nano S. Cardano is one of the first peer-reviewed third generation blockchains. The alliance allows the investors to protect their private keys through Ledger’s hardware wallets and gain access to their ADA with enhanced security.
Emurgo, the official commercial arm of Cardano played a considerable role in this development and also enabled the integration of Ledger Nano S with the Yoroi wallet. Cardano app can also be used with the ADALite wallet. The initiative has been sponsored by the Cardano foundation.
“Ledger and Emurgo are thrilled to announce that the Cardano app is now available for the Ledger Nano S!” tweeted the official twitter handle of Ledger. “Possibly the most requested crypto by our community.”

“This is an event people have been looking forward to for the past year. I am especially thrilled to see many teams come together and cooperate on ground-breaking news in the industry. It foreshadows many more exciting commercial developments we have in store for Cardano in 2019,” said Nicolas Arqueros, the CEO of EMURGO.
The initiative has encouraged the supporters of the cryptocurrency as integration with Ledger will significantly enhance the security of the coins. Ledger uses the state-of-the-art ‘Secure Elements’ to protect vital information from a large variety of physical attacks. Even speculation about the integration with Ledger saw the price of Cardano surge seven percent, just a couple of days back.
Cardano the fully open source, decentralized public blockchain and cryptocurrency project, is developing a smart contract platform which seeks to deliver more advanced features than any protocol previously developed. It claims to be the first blockchain platform to evolve out of scientific philosophy and a research-first driven approach.
“Our integration with Cardano is something the Ledger community has been looking forward to for a long time. We are constantly working to respond to the needs of our customers, so we’re thrilled to officially welcome Cardano to the Ledger platform, offering ADA investors world-class security for their crypto assets,” commented Eric Larchevêque, CEO of Ledger.
