KWANGYA recently announced the launching of its digital space in The Sandbox metaverse. Titled KWANGYA@The Sandbox, the metaverse experience will help users enjoy unrestricted K-culture.
Similarly, KWANGYA is opening the SMCU PALACE, which will also be a part of KWANGYA@The Sandbox. The platform was previously teased on 1st January at the SMTOWN LIVE 2023 show.
The show revealed that users could enjoy SM’s artists and music in a unique way at the artist zone. This can be done by solving quizzes, which will reward users with emblems. Fans can also access SSAM BEAR and stop by the KWANGYA store to use them.

KWANGYA has integrated a hint feature to help users get past the artist zone. The event is already live on its official Instagram channel, where users can win prizes, such as Nintendo Switch and AirPods Max.
Given The Sandbox’s plan to establish a metaverse entertainment space, a collaboration with the SM Group seems natural. Both parties have showcased their capabilities on several fronts, proposing immense promises to users.
According to The Sandbox Korea’s CEO, Cindy Lee, the company has been focused on establishing global partnerships. The Sandbox launched Korea Universe to offer new experiences affiliated with Korean companies. Now, starting 2023 with KWANGYA is another way to provide unique K-verse experiences to fans.
