Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba Group, tweeted today declaring that the first shipment of masks and coronavirus test kit is already on its way to the US from Shanghai.

COVID-19 has been creating havoc across the world. Talking specifically about the US, the U.S Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has tested 3,814 people positive so far, whereas other U.S. public health labs have tested 6,895 people. As per the statistics comparatively, countries like South Korea and Japan have conducted far more testing than the US.

Jack Ma Foundation has been very proactive in the fight against COVID-19.  A few weeks ago, Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation decided to collaborate to resource and donate needed materials to affected areas in Japan, Korea, Italy, Iran, and Spain. China has further shipped 500,000 testing kits and 1 million masks to the US.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, China has played a very responsible role. China has committed to international cooperation on the Covid-19 battle and is acting responsibly for its own citizens as well as for people all over the world.

Looking back at China’s personal experience, Ma is of the belief that quick and accurate testing can help prevent the outbreak on a large scale. That was the prime reason behind sending the shipment of 500,000 testing kits and 1 million masks to the US.
