Interview with IQeon's Founder and CEO Vadim Dovguchits Interview with IQeon's Founder and CEO Vadim Dovguchits

Today at CryptoNewsZ, we are joined by Vadim Dovguchits, founder and CEO of gaming PvP platform IQeon. Vadim Dovguchits spoke about the phenomenon of blockchain games and how they could change the video-game market.

CryptoNewsZ: Vadim, welcome to CryptoNewsZ. Thank you for joining us. As we know, you have extensive experience in the sphere of blockchain projects. Our readers would love to know what blockchain games are?

In blockchain games, processes happen partially or entirely in a chain of blocks, and the history of game changes is transparent and open to each user.

CryptoNewsZ: Do you think that the reliability of blockchain games is due to their decentralized structure?

I believe, this is part of the reason. The logic of blockchain game is controlled by a smart contract. It means that neither developers nor players themselves won’t be able to get involved in the game process and correct rules. For example, a user customizes a character, participates in a virtual race, opens a trunk with pirate treasures or sells a game loot to another user. Each of these actions is essentially a transaction. As a result, a player receives a certain amount of digital asset to the account. The smart contract, in this case, guarantees that sale terms made in a game will be definitely achieved.

CryptoNewsZ: Vadim, what makes blockchain games different in terms of game mechanics?

Blockchain games demonstrated a new play-to-earn model that allows users to monetize their in-game achievements and get quite real income for winning in virtual battles. New features offered by blockchain technology create extra motivation for players to spend more time in games and besides, attract a new category of players – crypto enthusiasts and people who come into the game not to play, but to earn.

CryptoNewsZ: Currently, Blockchain games do not have many players from the crypto space. Do you think that their number will grow?

Blockchain games are gradually becoming a trend. Remember the boom in 2017, when developers around the world began actively produce projects on the Ethereum blockchain. Thanks to that, users began to understand the advantage of games where you can get an award in crypto and transfer it to real money later. Large gamedev companies respond to audience interest and initiate their own projects. Game giant Ubisoft is experimenting with blockchain technology now. Sony is going to release a blockchain game for PlayStation. There are already similar projects for mobile devices. So probably in the near future, play-to-earn model will change the video-game industry a lot.

CryptoNewsZ: Vadim, could you tell us, what are the advantages of creating games on the blockchain for developers?

First, there is no need to deal with cheaters when using distributed registry technology. Scenarios provided in smart contracts simply do not leave loopholes for cheaters – they cannot either boost numbers or trick another player. Second, blockchain helps to form more involved gaming community. Since the user’s progress data is stored in the blockchain forever, that allows a player to start it with the stored progress when moving to another game within one ecosystem. Thus, a user is more interested in developing his character.

CryptoNewsZ: Please tell our readers about the gaming platform IQeon a bit further. We would like to know what opportunities it offers for users.

The greatest strength of gaming PvP platform IQeon is that players can monetize their achievements using internal digital asset IQN. Users participate in game matches and receive a reward for winning that can be spent to participate in other games. Thus IQN becomes a cross-game asset that can be used everywhere within the platform and transferred to other assets or fiat money at will.

CryptoNewsZ: What do you think, are there any barriers in the development of blockchain projects?

The first and the main barrier is a high threshold for entry. In order to start earning in blockchain game, a user needs to have an electronic wallet, interested in cryptocurrencies and in some cases even have a small number of tokens in the account. There are not many players yet who knows that and can do. 72,000 owners of the wallets with game assets are registered in blockchain Ethereum only. And the total number of crypto players is about 100,000. At the same time, the audience of video games is calculated at billions of players. So blockchain games will need a long time to match this number. But I am sure as far as crypto literacy of society grows, the number of blockchain projects will increase.
