Blockchain and IoT are among the most talked about and demanded technologies on the 21st Century. Both of these are being adopted at an individual as wells as at an enterprise level. However, the world awaits the integration of Blockchain and IoT, which, some experts say, could revolutionize the way businesses and other organization work.

IOTA is one of the first names to mind while talking about Blockchain and IoT integration. The not-for-profit organization is one of the few globally working towards creating a decentralized, shared economy, which would enable the stakeholders to share their data and other properties with truthful verification.

IoT or Internet of Things is a technology that enables electronic devices to communicate and interact with other machines connected to the internet. Alessandro Cremonesi, STMicroelectronics VP System Research and Application, says that integrating IOTA functionalities with STM32Cube using the X-CUBE-IOTA1 expansion software will allow developers to easily incorporate IOTA features and capabilities in their IoT enabled devices, “and create valuable applications using the STM32 Open Development Environment, which combines the STM32 32-bit microcontroller family with other state-of-the-art ST components.”

Director of Partner Management, Holger Köther said,

With specialized hardware playing such an integral role in the Internet of Things market adoption, it is exciting to work with such partners as ST to enhance IoT’s role as an innovation facilitator.

He further added that the IOTA foundation is open to opportunities to work with leading companies like STMicroelectronics, in order to step up from being the world’s first scalable and free, decentralized network and become the leading innovator of the next generation of blockchain technology.
