The gaming and crypto communities are buzzing as Hamster Kombat gears up for its highly anticipated airdrop on September 26, 2024. This marks the official conclusion of Season 1 and the beginning of the game’s Interlude Season, which will bridge the gap until Season 2. Players have eagerly awaited the distribution of HMSTR tokens, Hamster Kombat’s in-game currency. These rewards matter a lot as players earned them through gameplay over the past several months.
Hamster Kombat Season 1 Airdrop Distribution
With 60% of the total supply of 100 billion HMSTR tokens allocated for this airdrop, it is one of the largest token giveaways in crypto history. As of September 20, a snapshot of players’ in-game earnings was taken to determine the distribution of tokens. This incentivized players to maximize their gameplay before the snapshot, with many aiming to secure as many tokens as possible.
Around 131 million players qualified for the airdrop with 2.3 million banned for cheating activities, according to Bitget. These disqualified accounts had exploited loopholes or used automated systems to gain an unfair advantage. In response, the game’s development team confiscated a staggering 6.8 billion tokens from these cheaters.
Half of these reclaimed tokens will be redistributed to honest players, while the other half will be burned, reducing the overall token supply. Players can begin trading their airdropped tokens on Binance and Bitget on September 26.

Moreover, the game’s developers have implemented a vesting system. Thus, 88.75% of the airdropped tokens became immediately accessible, and the remaining 11.25% will be unlocked over the next ten months. This strategy is aimed at preventing large-scale sell-offs and maintaining market stability.
Is Season 3 on the Cards?
Looking ahead to Season 2, players are now participating in an Interlude Season designed to keep them engaged while preparing for the next chapter. Players are encouraged to continue upgrading their cards, completing tasks, and earning diamonds – an in-game asset that will give them an advantage in Season 2.
While no official date for Season 2 has been confirmed, the Interlude Season will provide a valuable opportunity for players to position themselves for future success. As for a potential Season 3, speculation is rife among the Hamster Kombat community.
While there is no official confirmation of a third season, some players believe the developers may consider it based on community interest. However, with 75% of the total token supply already reserved for the first two seasons, the likelihood of another substantial airdrop in Season 3 seems low.
