EthCC[4] is set to be one of the first events to bring back together members of the Ethereum community after a year of virtual conferences.

PARIS, May 19, 2021— EthCC (Ethereum Community Conference), the largest annual European Ethereum conference created for the community, by the community, will return for EthCC[4] from July 20–22, 2021 in Paris, France, in the midst of a year of ETH all-time highs, the explosion of the NFT market, and the Total Value Locked in Decentralized Finance (DeFi) reaching $172 billion.

“We are thrilled to be able to make our return and provide the community with a chance to reconnect after the tumultuous times that followed EthCC[3] in March 2020. This pause in the world saw the blockchain community build some industry-shaping technology and now, once again we have a chance to come together and continue to share our knowledge and educate one another on community developments,” said Jerome de Tychey, Founder and President of Ethereum France.

In the past year the technological advancements for Ethereum have been immense, internally with the successful launch of Eth2.0 in December 2020, and the approval of EIP-1559 to create deflationary ETH supply, and externally with the adoption of multiple layer 2 solutions, which have minimized transaction fees and optimized network speed.

There have also been huge in-roads in Ethereum adoption by mainstream finance, with Paypal introducing ETH as a payment option and Visa settling stablecoin transactions on the Ethereum blockchain.

Now, EthCC[4] will feature presentations and workshops on these developments as well as the outlook for the industry, led by renowned thought leaders in blockchain.

Aave’s Stani Kulechov said, “The last EthCC was truly inspiring, I really enjoyed meeting new people and exploring new synergies. This is what the Ethereum community is about, and I am looking forward to being part of more EthCC’s in the future.” Aave is an open-source and non-custodial liquidity protocol for earning interest on deposits and borrowing assets. Themes such as Decentralised Finance (DeFi), Security, Developer Tools, Enterprise, Eth 2.0, scaling solutions and more, serve to educate and inspire attendees on the developments from the Ethereum community.

The EthCC team is working closely with the venue, La Maison de la mutualité, to ensure that every possible measure will be taken to uphold social distancing and respect the COVID-19 regulations put in place by the French government.

EthCC[4] will also provide the opportunity for vetted startups to pitch in front of top VCs such as  Althemis, Point9 Capital, Kima Ventures, and BPI through the EthVC program.

“EthVC, the ‘VC’ track of the conference, successfully brought together startups and investors over the 3-day event, aimed at enhancing connectivity and understanding between the two by providing a private, application-only VC track dedicated to this. We are delighted to host this again in 2021!” said Ambre Soubiran, CEO of Kaiko.
