Early voting has commenced across the US and the political campaign is heating up in America as the final election date draws closer. For gaining support of their respective voter base, a list of billionaires are pumping funds to back Kamala Harris and Donald Trump – one that is making all the noise is Elon Musk who donated over $132 Million fund to support Trump and other allies
A latest federal document has revealed that the CEO of SpaceX, X and Tesla has reportedly pumped over $132 million to support the former President Donald Trump along with other Republican allies. The document highlighted that the most recent contribution by Musk was that of $56 million. American PAC further highlighted that Musk fueled the political campaign with funds worth $44 million in the first half of October itself.
A quarterly filing with the Federal Election Commission showed that his contribution was $72 million from July to September this year, that is 2024. That’s simply not the end of it. Elon Musk announced that he would reward one lucky person with $1 million dollars if they register as a voter from Pennsylvania and sign a petition. Many have often mixed it with “bribing” people into voting for a candidate. In fact, a recent report claimed that US Department of Justice has warned the pro-Trump political action committee (PAC) founded by Elon Musk that its $1 million-per-day voter sweepstakes may be illegal. However, Musk has been able to navigate around that by seeking their signatures for a petition to be eligible for the reward.
His petition has an aim to support free speech and the right to bear arms.

Musk flaunts his support for free speech via X – with the same rarely needing a lot of details. The right to bear arms is a bit tricky because it pitches a legal possession of arms for self-defense.

Elon Musk is not the only known figure to have come forward with financial support. Timothy Mellon is one of the biggest individual donors for having donated $125 million to the MAGA campaign.
Harris is not leaving any stone unturned either. She has been able to gather support from Bill Gates who was last seen donating almost $50 million to the Democratic candidate. Kamala Harris has 79-80 more billionaires backing her path to the Chair. Some of them reportedly include Steven Spielberg, Arthur Blank, and Goldman Fowler.
Meanwhile, Trump has support from Bill Ackman, Marc Andressen, and Steve Wynn, as per several reports.
Most of these contributions come in the backdrop of known positives and negatives attached to their pitched policies. For instance, business school professors and historians have reportedly warned that backing Trump could be detrimental for businesses. But crypto community is playing safe by backing both the parties.
Ripple CEO, Brad Garlinghouse publicly backed Republican candidate John Deaton over anti-crypto Senator Elizabeth Warren, as he posted on X, “VOTE FOR HIM if you’re in Massachusetts!”, and applauded Deaton’s advocacy for XRP. On the other hand, Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen’s announcement of a $10 million XRP donation to Kamala Harris’s campaign triggered controversy within the cryptocurrency community.
