It has been established by now that cryptocurrency has entered the economy. However, it is not just the mainstream market that virtual currency is entering. Recently, the presence of cryptocurrency can be noticed in other areas as well. According to the latest reports, it has been found that cryptocurrency is gradually paving its way into the popular culture. A recent example of the same was when Bitcoin was mentioned in a song rapped by Eminem. This song is called ‘Not Alike”, and a phrase of this song mentions Bitcoin. The song deals with a number of sentences that describe human life. Needless to mention, the song used profanity. However, this is not the first time the popular culture has talked about cryptocurrency, another instance of the same is a line by Toby + Decap, “Welcome to the blockchain”. It is confirmed that rappers are well aware of the hold of virtual currency in the market.
However, the group of rappers is not the only one who is looking at this newly emerging field, it is being said that soon a movie is going to be made about the same. This Hollywood movie will be titled “Crypto” and it will deal with the issue of money laundering. Another issue that this movie shall deal with is the issue of security on the internet. Not just Hollywood, but the popular Sitcom, Big Bang Theory also aired one episode dealing with Bitcoin. Virtual currency, as of yet has not entered the mainstream market, but it attempts are being made to see to it that at least the popular digital currencies become a name known by several people in the economic sphere or otherwise.
The musicians in the sector are also quite vociferous about what they think about this newly emerged sector. The singer and songwriter Tatiana Moroz had launched a coin called Tatianacoin; it was possible to raise money through Tatianacoin in the year 2014. Levine, another popular musician had intended to bring the various musicians together through the means of the blockchain. John Barrett, who is a country singer, has written a song about the founder of Satoshi, this song is, “an ode to Satoshi”. Other popular songs based on Bitcoin are “Love you like Bitcoin’, that is inspired by the popular song of Selena Gomez. This song talked about all the ways in which Bitcoin can contribute positively to the society. Also, a popular show called ‘Dope’ aired an episode in which some strong opinion about the role of Bitcoin in the market was expressed.
It will be a while before Bitcoin can step into the shoes of the traditional currency, but the fact that digital currency has an ally in the popular culture can benefit it in the long run.
