Crypto.com, the world’s most popular cryptocurrency platform with nearly 80 million members and a reputation for regulatory compliance, data privacy, and security, has recently launched the most innovative program at the renowned Adelaide Oval, home of the Adelaide Crows.

With the help of Crypto.com Pay, their state-of-the-art payment system, this is a first for the gaming sector. Fans of the league and concertgoers will be treated to a whole new crypto experience as they can now use cryptocurrency to pay for food and drink at the venue’s numerous food and drink stands.

This integration, sponsored by Adelaide Crows, Adelaide Oval, and financial systems software company DataMesh, which provides payment technology and terminals, will be a world first on this scale. Starting on April 4, the services will be operational and accessible to spectators during the AFL’s Gather Round.

The services—representing a groundbreaking collaboration of this magnitude—are anticipated to go live for fans on April 4 at the AFL’s Gather Round event. Customers will easily pay with cryptocurrency: they just need to choose Crypto.com as one of their payment options on the merchant payment page, and a special QR code will be created on the terminal. Now, customers may choose their preferred cryptocurrency and finish the transaction by scanning this code with the Crypto.com app.

Commemorating the introduction, Gather Round will give AUD$10 cashback on the first 1,000 transactions. Additional incentives are anticipated for the Adelaide Crows home games and the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

Karl Mohan, general manager of Crypto.com’s APAC division, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s use of payment technology at Adelaide Oval. He highlighted Australia’s quick embrace of cryptocurrencies and the ways that Crypto.com is fostering innovation and making it possible to use cryptocurrencies in everyday life. He discussed the payment solution’s scalability, ease of use, and possibilities for future integrations.

Tim Silvers, CEO of the Adelaide Crows, praised Crypto.com for its pioneering attitude in Bitcoin and blockchain, acknowledging that such collaborations are becoming increasingly important for everyone in introducing new ideas to members, supporters, and fans. He emphasized the need to provide spectators with multiple transportation alternatives in order to interest them even more on game day.

Mark Nagy, CEO of DataMesh, discussed numerous concepts for connecting fiat and digital money. He noted DataMesh’s role in ensuring that Bitcoin transactions are as smooth and secure as possible, broadening the scope of crypto payments and moving the cryptocurrency adoption process forward significantly.

The latest endeavor builds on cooperation between Crypto.com, DataMesh, and OTR, which saw Australia deploy a cryptocurrency in-store payment system across more than 440 Peregrine retail outlets in Western Australia, Victoria, and South Australia.
