The Chief Electoral Officer of Gujarat, P Bharti, has brought in a virtual reality-oriented election metaverse for the elections slated for the 7th of May, 2024. The metaverse intends to educate and engage with more than 13 million youngsters voting for the first time.
Before venturing within the virtual space, voters will be allowed to choose a personality. Within the arena, they will have the opportunity to understand the procedure related to placing their votes via a screening of an educational clip. This will bring to the table a voting booth wherein voters will be exposed to a stage-by-stage simulation exercise. Work in hand will involve verifying identifiable documents and using EVM machines for voting.
The election metaverse, an initial initiation carried out in India, is through an association with Unity, a Web3 studio. This will lead the way towards utilizing the metaverse for learning reasons. A short while back, Nissan started a traffic safety learning module within the metaverse through Heritage Cars and Safe Drive Studio. It offered all-inclusive exposure and involved vintage cars.
