Now, iPhone users can earn Basic Attention Token (BAT) tokens for simply watching privacy-preserving advertisements with the blockchain-based Brave Browser. BAT is an Ethereum based open-source, decentralized ad marketing platform. Formerly Brave Payments used Bitcoin to allow users to reward content creators and websites like YouTubers and Twitch streamers with BAT tokens.

Brave’s development team also disbursed the first round of its ‘user growth pool’ grants among its new users on a first-come-first-served basis and summed to a total of 300,000 BAT tokens.

The browser, managed by Mozilla Firefox’s co-founder Brendan Eich, enabled a reward system for Android users early in 2019, but iPhone users had to wait several months since it was more difficult to incorporate Brave’s ad system in iOS, but now iOS users finally have access to the feature. The browser would still retain its advertisement-free feature, and the users can access it easily by disabling the feature from the browser’s settings.

The free web browser developed by Brave Software is available for Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS, and Android. The current version hosts five search engines by default, including their partner, DuckDuckGo. Even though Google Chrome continues to be the predominant browser in the domain of internet browsing, the open-source web browser, brave, is gradually drawing consumers from Google’s immense market share and adding to its user base. Reportedly, Jonathan Sampson, the head of developer relations at Brave, revealed that the crypto-friendly chromium web-based browser now has over nine million active users every month.
