Brave browser is all set to add more features with regards to wallets. As per their official subreddit, Brave Browser has added support for native digital currency wallets to Brave Nightly, Brave Browser’s test + development variant.

With this latest update, other crypto wallets, especially MetaMask, can be utilized with Brave’s Basic Attention Token (BAT). All the transactions are first required to fulfill the KYC (Know Your Customer) requirements through Uphold. For those who came in late, Brave has recently partnered with Uphold wallet to let users withdraw BAT from its wallet Brave Rewards.

Brendan Eich, the CEO and co-founder of Brave, stated that KYC concerns top their list of priorities because of the regulatory concerns. He also clarified that the decision to add support for p2p wallets was not taken to undercut the regulators but to lead forward the community. Moreover, the inclusion of wallet support will not only boost the adoption rate but will also keep Brave’s reputation clean, Eich added.

Elaborating further, Eich said that they don’t have any illusion that the raw crypto isn’t for the majority of users because it’s unusable and too technical in nature. The Brave team wants all those users who’re able to utilize the same to have their cryptocurrency wallets integrated with Brave. All such users may innovate and partner with Brave, channels, and sites proxied full node services, hardware wallet sellers, along with their preferred blockchains at implementation levels, as well as core protocol levels, for innovating above expectations. Eich said that because they like ‘lead users,’ they would offer them added options.

It’s worth noting that Brave Browser is recognized for its three-way marketing system which rewards advertisers, viewers, as well as content creators via its token. But ever since the launch of the token, the Brave community has often complained about the absence of support when it comes to other Ethereum wallets, such as MyEtherWallet or MetaMask. However, this limitation was very much intended and self-designed as the team wanted the crypto’s content creation and use case to flourish.
