In a recent announcement, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the former CEO of Binance, has alerted the crypto community about the rise of fake accounts impersonating him on the social media platforms. Zhao emphasized that he only uses the official X account (@cz_binance) and warned users that any other account are likely a scam.
Beware of fake “cz” accounts out there. I am only using this X account. All other accounts with “cz_…” are fake, imposters, or scammers.
Please report them as you see them. I hope X do a better job on cleaning these fake accounts. https://t.co/bCft2hI5XZ

CZ warned by Binance’s KOL
Changpeng Zhao was actually warned by one of Binance’s Key Opinion Leader (KOL) Aman Sai. He had tagged Yehi and Changpeng Zhao in his post, urging others to be cautious. This action caught Changpeng Zhao’s attention, leading the former CEO to repost the KOL’s warning along with the screenshot of the fake profile.
The screenshot image displayed a profile name with the name as his original account accompanied by a verified tick, but the actual handle was @cz_chinese which raised immediate red flags. This discrepancy raises concerns about the rise of imposters attempting to mislead users.
