The analytics interface platform Growthepie has revealed that the Base blockchain network has ousted Arbitrum network as a top Ethereum L2 transaction network . As per the platform, Ethereum Layer2 transactions have reached a whopping figure of  12.42 million , which sets a new record.

Out of the total transactions, Base network has emerged as a top choice for Ethereum L2 network with around 3.25 million transactions under its name. On the other hand, Arbitrum network stands as the second most used Ethereum L2 transaction network with 1.11 Million transactions.

Base which uses Optimistic Rollup technology is only little over a year old, but has soon become the top choice for transactions. Other top networks on the list include Linea, OP mainnet, Scroll, ZKsync Era, Mantle, Zora, Taiko and Blast respectively.

Taiko, has surprisingly seen a surge of 4.4% in the last day, as an active transaction network amongst others.

Even with such impressive individual performances, Ethereum Layer2 transactions have seen a considerable slump for four consecutive weeks. Total number of Active addresses is currently 5,297,233 which is 16.32% less than the last week. Active Wallet on Multiple Chains is 497,425, which is 13.41% less than the last week.

Even though the overall dominance of Layer 2 transaction network is 2.91x , it still is 14.32% less than last week.

Until now, the third week of June had marked the highest number of active addresses with over 8.5 Million transactions.
