The delivery of high-quality entertainment has changed significantly over the past few years as Netflix completely changed the industry with its streaming service. The company is now available globally and still regarded as the byword for online streaming. However, it was only a matter of time before the other tech giants and entertainment behemoths caught on to the change in trends and started their own streaming services. Amazon started its own service, as did other companies like Disney, ESPN, and HBO, which is why it was perhaps a matter of time before a tech behemoth like Apple got into the industry.
The company made a big announcement at a star-studded event earlier this year about the launch of Apple TV +, the company’s very own streaming service and needless to say; there is a lot of anticipation about the sort of content that will be churned out by the company. At the end of the day, Apple is well known for its commitment to quality and hence, naturally, people have a lot of anticipation with regards to the shows that are going to be commissioned by the company. In an interview with a leading newspaper, the Senior VP of Internet Software and Services at Apple, Eddy Cue has stated that the company is not looking to focus on quantity, but quality and that should come as good news for all those who are looking forward to subscribing to Apple TV +.
During the course of the interview, Cue said that the company would not be ‘creating the most’ but instead focus on ‘creating the best’ content there is in the video streaming industry. Needless to say, it is a tall claim and one that would be severely tested when the service is finally launched. It is important to note that Netflix is spending billions of dollars every year in original content and if Apple is to get a toehold in the market, then it would definitely have to produce outstanding shows.
