Animoca Brands recently announced it was taking another step toward empowering individuals to become platforms. 

The unique initiative will help individuals be represented as platforms, allowing third parties to create robust network effects and added value without any middlemen. This will also benefit the users that can be retained, contributing to the network effects.

With a streamlined DID (decentralized identifier), content and service providers can serve billions of users with specially designed products and services for end users. This way, every customer can receive and deliver value to the platform.

Web2 has transformed the end users of a service into a product. However, Web3 can redefine how the status of a product can be leveraged. Unlike most NFTs, a DID is not transient and will only certify the identity of one user.

Moca ID or .Moca is Animoca Brands’ answer to this approach. The DID is an extension to the Mocaverse and provides a unique identifier under the pretense of .Moca. It acts as a soul-bound NFT that can manage a user’s non-transferable and unique self-sovereign identity.

Yat Siu, the Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Animoca Brands released a post to inform users about the DID. Siu stated that Animoca Brands believes in enabling true digital rights for everyone. 

It includes ownership of digital items and the value individuals create by investing time in platforms. Moca ID will deliver a future where the Labour of users’ Time and the Work of users’ Minds (a quote by John Locke) will be only theirs.
