Affyn is shaking up the GameFi arena with its new play-to-earn, closed looped economy, which promises its users more than just the ability to earn from playing. Perhaps this explains the sudden inflow of investment that this Singapore-based blockchain entertainment company has enjoyed in the last few months.
Classically, play-to-earn gives players the ability to earn tokens from just playing a game, rather than paying to play, or playing to win. Affyn’s new Nexus World is also creating a sustainable economy for players who can start advertising brands and companies in their own Lands and on their structures.
What is Nexus World?
Nexus World Metaverse is built from a collection of Lands. Each Land is represented by an NFT, which can be bought by the user with his FYN token. The game’s character, known as “Buddy” can also be purchased directly on the platform with FYN. The token was recently listed in a public sale through several leading launchpads and saw the token net $10.4 million within just 60 hours of the sale from 5700 participants.
Ahead of this, Affyn, the team behind Nexus, generated over $7 million from a collection of over 50 private investors, including institutions and VC firms. According to the cofounder of Affyn,

“We would like to thank our partners, advisors, investors, and community for the tremendous support and trust in Affyn. Our successful fundraising campaign signals strong confidence in the vision of Affyn’s Play-to-Earn Metaverse. 2022 will be unprecedented as we ignite the tech space by ushering in a new era of Metaverse. We will pioneer the first of its kind Play-to-Earn Metaverse that encapsulates the fabric of reality into a synthetic world where the notion of a real-world is represented by digital avatars, NFTs, and assets. We would like to invite you to join us in this Metaverse where we can play, earn and have more fun together at the same time.”
Where AR Meets the Blockchain
The game is also innovative in the fact that it uses real-world geo-mapping and the use of augmented reality, giving the player the ability to work his way through Lands, in the real world, at the same time as exploring virtual lands.
Players have the option to buy structures to place in their Lands, to hold events there, to advertise third-party products, and to lease their Lands out in return for passive income by way of the FYN token.
The “Buddy’ character, also represented by an NFT, has attributes that help achieve tasks, conduct work, and complete raids and quests. As the character progresses through the game, his skills and attributes power up, making him stronger, more capable, and more valuable monetarily.
